Time for our blog again and we have just returned from our AHKM Combined camp out east in sunny Gisborne. We had an ace time and it was so much fun in the Holy Ghost! We stayed on the Marae which was so much fun and a great experience for we foreigners :), also the Kiwis that are not used to the communal living as well. We really appreciated the hospitality of the people of
the Rongo Pai Marae in Gisborne and thank them for welcoming us.
Manurewa Church services have been on fire for Jesus, praying for the sick and preaching the Good News to the lost on our turf. Many people have received the full gospel on our streets and some have visited the services to find out more about Jesus. Some people have made first-time commitments or re-commitments to Christ. One disciple called a lady he met on the streets to invite her to Bible Study. The voice that answered the phone said ‘I have never met you and don’t know who you are, but yes I am interesting in coming to Bible Study!’ She came along that night and testified she moved to
Manurewa from Wellington two months ago and has been praying God would lead her to an on-fire church. She was blessed by the spot-on prophetic words and was shaking under God’s power during the worship. It turns out that the disciple rang a completely wrong number and has never met this girl. Ha ha! God was miraculously setting her up! She has been fellowshipping with us since. Another
family testified they were so blessed to attend a church which is zealous for Jesus and moves in the Holy Spirit.
Here are some other testimonies from the the disciples here at AHKC Manurewa:
‘One afternoon I was out preaching and I saw a girl about 15 yrs old limping to the train. I went up to her and shared my testimony and told her Jesus wanted to heal her. She looked at me funny and shared that her knee-cap was messed up. I commanded the pain to go and prayed ‘Jesus loves
you and be healed in His Name’. I then asked her to test it. She stood there with eyes and mouth wide open and speechless because she could now stand properly! But there was still a little bit of pain. So I prayed again. This time she was shaking and freaking out and she said she felt warmth around her knee and was completely healed! JESUS!’
‘I was on my way to Southmall and I saw a girl sitting by herself smoking and looking depressed at the park. I tried to ignore her but God wanted me to turn around and talk to her. I started sharing with her about Jesus and she said she knew from the moment she saw my vest that God was sending
me to her and she was thinking ‘oh no!’ She has been walking away from Jesus since her dad passed away in February. I got to pray for her and prophesy over her and she said she felt heaps better, and then we started sharing the Word and she started getting fired up for Jesus! I then had dinner with her and her sister and mum, and shared heaps of testimonies with them all and encouraged
them all to go hard for Jesus. They were so encouraged and want to catch up again. They were amazed that I am only a baby Christian. The girl testified that she feels like Jesus has lit a flame of fire in her, praise God! She has since come to Bible Study.’
‘At 36.5 weeks in my pregnancy I was told I had gestational diabetes. The doctor told me I need to be induced early and that there were many health risks for me and my baby including many weight
complications and a possible stillborn birth. At my final scan doctors decided I needed to be induced immediately and booked me in for 39 weeks, which happened to be the first day of AHKM camp! The whole church at Manurewa, and all our churches round NZ started binding the devil. We prayed asking for a spontaneous, supernatural labour where both baby and I would be healthy, and for it to happen a week before camp so we could recover and come along for a great Holy Ghost
time. Our God answered everything we asked for and more!! I spontaneously went
into labour and went to hospital at 11pm Sunday night and had him at 1.52am
Monday morning at 38 weeks and 1 day! He was a healthy 8lb 12oz. Both of us were
checked for high blood sugars and both of us were NORMAL! Jesus healed us! We
were released from hospital the next morning. Many people made comments about
how awesome I looked for just having a baby, and we both recovered super quick
ready for an awesome time away at camp! Thank you JESUS!!!’
‘I moved to Manurewa for discipleship last year and was given difficult rotating night shifts at my new job. My ministers told me to be faithful and continue at my discipleship no matter what the cost and God would give me the breakthrough. Two weeks ago my manager decided to give me a
promotion out of the blue and I no longer have to work night shifts!’
It’s also great to hear again that members of our community notice the difference that Gospel Force makes on our streets. One disciple got up and preached Jesus on the bridge over the railway where there was a group of High School kids preparing to fight. The situation was diffused as he preached
and one-by-one the young men left and went home. A man came up and thanked the
Gospel Force soldier for bringing good news to the community and helping keep
the streets a safe place. The grandmother of a teenage girl in trouble was deeply touched to find out that Christians freely walk the streets ministering to people in need. After speaking for more than half an hour with one of our ministers on the phone, she said that her granddaughter meeting a Gospel Force soldier was a ‘God-send’ and that she was so thankful for churches that cared
for people enough they go out of their way to minister to strangers. She even offered to support the church financially as a ‘thank you’. Another girl was sitting at the bus-stop when she was approached by a disciple and said she was just praying for God to send her some answers if He was real. It’s awesome to know Jesus is making a difference here.
We have also been door knocking houses around our church building and ministering to those who are willing. One young Catholic man eagerly received the Gospel and said ‘why haven’t I heard this before?!’ He then called his Hindu friend to the door to hear the Gospel also. These young men
both received prayer and were thrilled to experience the power of God. Another man was keen to spend some time studying the Bible with disciples after admitting he hadn’t been to church for a long time. There are many Indians that live in this area which belong to the Sikh and Hindu religions so it is great to have a Hindi speaking disciple with us who translates the Gospel message for
them. Many have been open to receive it.
God is doing so much in the people of Manurewa and it has been a very exciting year thus far. Of course we have also had opposition from the forces of darkness who hate the Gospel, including threats of violence on the streets, religious visitors walking out of services angry at the preaching of
the Word, people calling themselves Christians yet refusing to obey the Bible, demonic manifestations at the services, and others aborting their discipleship for the love of drink and drugs. But it is all a joy and good fun for those serving Jesus.
Lastly we also said goodbye to Priscilla (Cill) who has been sent as a missionary to AHKC Levin! She has been an awesome soldier in Rewa and we are blessed she is continuing the good fight.
Be encouraged, get discipled and fulfill your own purpose on the Earth for Jesus! Time is short and Jesus is coming soon!
