Manurewa is a suburb part of South Auckland, which desperately needs the uncompromised Gospel. Considering the large amount of churches in this area we have still come across a lot of first time hearer’s of the Gospel. People that have heard about Jesus but have not heard the Gospel before. And so it is always really cool to be able to preach to them the uncompromised Gospel first. Before they possibly hear all the other lies. We’ve had a lot of fun out here on the streets, each time we’ve gone out it has always been different and there’s never a dull moment when you got the Great Holy Ghost. Rewa disciples have been bold in demonstrating Holy Ghost power by praying for the sick, but also making sure to pray and prophesy to all those who are willing. We know God is real and He always has something to say to the people of Manurewa. We’ve had a blast handing out Gospel tracts that boldly say “REPENT” and then have the Biblical Gospel written on the back. Just in the last few months we’ve had lots of different people come to church from all walks of life just because of faithful witnessing. We’ve had some of the best moments of our Christianity to date right here on the streets of Manurewa. Being able to speak the truth of Jesus Christ to many who are walking around blind and lonely. We all boldly open air preach at a set of traffic lights right on the corner of Manurewa’s main street, such a prime spot for people who are waiting at the lights to hear about Jesus. We also open air preach at the train/bus stop here in Manurewa too which is another great spot where people are constantly coming and going. Open-air preaching is not a common thing to see here and so there is a lot of different reactions. Some loving the craziness/boldness and others hating it so much so that they put their fingers in their ears whilst walking past saying la la la la la. It’s just awesome to be unashamed of the Gospel here because so many people say that they love God and yet they deny him by their works. The Bible tells us to love God is to obey his commandments and that his commandments are not grievous. It is a privilege to be an ambassador for Christ and to be useful for Him in any way we can.
Earlier this year we had an Indian women want to become a disciple because she had heard about discipleship from 2 other disciples. She speaks in Punjabi but that has not stopped her from desiring to know the truth in Jesus Christ. Her family have their own religion and even still she has chosen to follow Jesus regardless of what they think. She has been in long distance discipleship for around 6 months now. She is just one of many testimonies that prove Jesus Christ is real and can do the impossible. Through her love for God she has committed herself fully to her discipleship and has now established her own personal intimate relationship with God. She has been taking English classes and has miraculously picked it up really fast, go Holy Ghost.
A young lady who is a disciple in this church has been an awesome witness in her workplace. She is an employee at an age care centre and is faced with sickness and infirmity every day. She has taken every opportunity that has presented itself to pray for both patients and fellow employees. Which has resulted in a patient having personal visits from ministers in AHKM. And having an interest in biblical discipleship.
After street witnessing on Saturday, I just got home and I heard my neighbours screaming and shouting at each other. Cursing up a storm and the kids were going crazy. I saw the man with a knife at the door and he was going at it with his partner choking her and man handling her. I ran over to the house asked the guy if he wanted to talk about things but he just walked in the shed. So I went to see if the family were ok in which case they were freaked out and scared. I was able to share the Gospel with her because she asked about our vests having seen me wear it. And share with her my testimony about how Jesus saved me from sin. (disciple Berlin)
Also in September this year God did a bit of shifting around in and amongst the ministry so we had Apostle Ryan and Rev Jac make a trip up here to preach and make some announcements. We were all stirred up by our Apostle and really encouraged by Rev Jac also. The then Pastors of this church Rev Tim & Rev Lin were announced to head down to Levin to oversee our newest church plant down there. That was an exciting and interesting time for all. They sold what they could and packed up house ready to move within weeks. This is the Bible and it is such a privilege to watch and be a part of. The other announcement made by Rev Ry and Rev Jac, was a disciple who was a trainee pastor under Rev Tim & Lin had been proven by God and found faithful. She was then ordained to become a Pastor and the new Pastor of AHKC Manurewa. What a privilege and an honour to be useful for King Jesus. Along with these changes we had 1 of our disciples move to AHKC Otara and 2 of their disciples come here to AHKC Manurewa. Change is always good for disciples to build character but also for us to see the bigger picture. That it’s not about us it’s about preaching the Gospel, winning souls, making disciples and bringing as much glory to our Father in heaven as we can.
We also had a quick visit from Pastors Brad and Fiona. Who come from Miracle Christian Centre Australia. They both preached and man did they tear it up. Most of us are familiar with MCC because that is where our ministers came out of. It’s so awesome to meet other on fire disciples because even though we may live in different countries we all talk the same thing. The Word of God.
Soon after the changes were made we were excited to host 3 on Fire guys who are disciples down in AHKC Gizzy. They came up on a mission’s trip during labour weekend. We took them out on the streets here on Friday afternoon. Which they were all keen as to open air preach. Saturday morning we all hit the streets in Otara which was such an awesome witness for Jesus. Seeing more of our Gospel Force bright yellow vests out in and amongst the loads of people in Otara. The whole weekend was a success for Jesus the guys ministered the Word, prayed and prophesied each day and then had lots of fun and fellowship. It was such a refreshing and encouraging weekend for all!!! We were all stirred up to be more on Fire for King Jesus.
Just recently I met a young lady here on the streets. I asked if she knew about Jesus and if she had heard the Gospel. She was really eager to know more about Jesus and asked me if I had the time to tell her. I said definitely, so I got to share with her then invited her to come along to church. She came to our Sunday morning service and God touched her. She responded to the alter call at the end and made a decision to give her heart to Jesus. Go God!!!!!
Our 2 youngest disciples in our church Journey-Ray & Isaiah both just recently had chicken pox. The awesome thing was they were healed from them. The spots were there but they weren’t irritated by them. Had no problem at all with them. Fever, uncomfortability and itching are all common symptoms but these guys had none of it. They didn’t need to take any time off from meetings or services. Thank you Jesus for your healing power.
While I was working in the kitchen one night I accidently cut the top of my index finger off. After I went to the emergency medical centre, I then had to go to Middlemore Hospital. I was then told from the doctor that my recovery would take 6 months, and my finger would be sensitive for the next 6 months and also that I could possibly get bone infection. Everyone was praying for me that I would be healed and all pain would go. But also that I would have a full and quick recovery. Binding up any infection. 7 weeks later I was able to go back to work. And each time I had gone in to get it dressed there was no sign of infection and it was each time getting better and better. Thank you Jesus!!!!! (A disciple Mandeep)
As we near the end of another year for Jesus disciples in this church have really grown in their own relationships with God. We’ve all seen a lot this year from people backsliding and turning their backs on Jesus to others being thrust out into the harvest field. Some have been promoted and given the opportunity to step up and learn ministry. Each disciple has definitely had their own trials this year but you know praise God for them. That’s Gods way to build character and make soldiers out of us all. Bring it on Lord because we want to grow up in the things of you. We’ve all really made Manurewa our post. That this is where God has put us to preach hard, seek & save the lost, heal the sick, cast out devils, raise the dead and make disciples. C’mon guys let’s do this for Jesus for He is KING!!!And He is coming soon!!!
Bless you in Jesus Mighty Name
