Our time spent ministering on the streets continues to reveal the backslidden and unsaved state of most people living in this religious hub, many of whom are hungry for real and powerful encounters with a Living God! Many have willingly accepted prayer and prayed prayers of commitment to the Jesus Christ of the Bible. Some have made it into Bible Studies and church services and some are starting the journey of discipleship under God’s anointed leaders. Once we have come to know Jesus ourselves this is what the rest of our life should be centred around: making sure all other men have the opportunity to freely receive the truth of the gospel and to be trained up to maturity in Christ. At the end of the day we know not all men will choose to follow Jesus, but they must at least be given every opportunity to turn from the coming wrath. How selfish for Christians to keep the greatest gift to mankind to themselves because of their own fears or laziness?! Such excuses will not stand up on that Day before God.
In an awesome display of God’s goodness He has used the new disciples here in Manurewa to encourage some who have been Christians for a longer time to be bold and also start preaching the gospel. We recently had some visitors from Australia who were cut to the heart to see a young woman who left her whole life to become a disciple only four weeks earlier, passionately open air preach at the bus stations in Manurewa. The Aussies very quickly picked up some tracts and started witnessing to the lost, realising that if someone four weeks old in the Lord can publically preach, surely they could evangelise too. While the young disciples open aired for the first time the hearts of many listeners were opened and many received the gospel.
Our church services have continued to be powerful times of worship and preaching the uncompromised Word, and we have had many people visit to check out the church causing a stir on the streets. We praise God for our new building at the Weymouth Rugby Club which is big enough to host many visitors and also has room for dancing in praise. God has also provided more of the new disciples with paid work which is such a blessing in this city with a climate of financial pressure and high unemployment. He continues to show Himself faithful to His kids.
We have also had the privilege of welcoming a disciple from the Gold Coast Miracle Christian Center to come and be part of AHKM. She is a New Zealander who has been living in Australia but God has called her back to her home country to be part of the harvest of her own people, which is very exciting. The disciples are all growing and stepping into new roles in the church including kitchen duties, sound, giving communion messages, singing and playing instruments. We are water baptising at least four of them at the beach this coming Saturday. It is great to see New Zealanders growing in the things of God and ministering in power which is why God has ordained this ministry: for the people of New Zealand to be saved and dominate this nation for Jesus.
There really is no higher life to live than one given to seeing God’s eternal kingdom come to lost and dying men. And all God asks is that we obey what He has already said in His unchanging Word. Though we will have troubles in this life, it really is simple to live victoriously. Believe God and obey. We pray that wherever you are you too are giving your whole life to Jesus’ cause on this Earth: to see His Kingdom come. Let’s destroy all the works of the devil who seeks to drag the souls of men into Hell, by preaching the gospel to every creature and seeing them born again and set on fire for Jesus. Please keep praying for us too.
With love from New Zealand, AHKM Team.
