Here is a little of what has been happening most recently in the life of our church:
Last month we were very excited to welcome a young man onto our Gospel Force Evangelism Team. Everyone here knows it is a huge honour to officially represent Christ on the streets and we are stoked to have another disciple willing to commit to holy living and regular witnessing. Most evenings there are disciples wearing yellow vests preaching the Gospel and praying for the sick in the streets of Manurewa. It’s awesome to drive past and see groups of them out there ‘unofficially,’simply because they love serving Christ and the lost. That’s true Christianity in action!
Some of the new visitors I wrote about in our last blog have stuck around and become part of a new Friday Daytime Bible Study. These young ladies have been enjoying learning about their new life in Christ and we pray they will continue to walk with Him for the rest of their lives! A couple of them have joined some disciples witnessing on a few occasions, and said they were totally thrilled to be out there approaching strangers to talk about Jesus. Another lady has also visited a few times and testified that she has never before heard the message of Discipleship though she has been in different churches all her life. She says God is setting her on fire again and she is excited to keep attending AHKC.
As our official meetings have been coming to a close we have enjoyed more fellowship nights and hitting the streets as a team at different times. People have been open and ready to chat as they are out Christmas shopping and socialising, so we have capitalised on it! As a church we have had some fun bbq’s and games nights too, which has been great to band together and spend time getting to know one another more. The disciples here work hard for the Kingdom so it is great to also have good fun and laughs together. Last Thursday night we had our 2012 Breakup with AHKC Otara at the Auckland Botanical Gardens. The guys surprised us all by rocking up in their ‘national skirts’ LOL! There were Maori, Fijian and Samoan skirts, and of course the good old Aussie towel wrapped around a couple of guys waists! Ha ha. We all had a picnic dinner together, played ball games and cracked up at the 2012 Awards Ceremony. Afterwards we had our church games war (which is becoming tradition!) and came out 1 all.
Some of the disciples have now left Auckland to visit family across the country (and in Aus) and we have encouraged everyone to rest up and get refreshed over the Summer Break. The Highlight of this Christmas will certainly be the Auckland Holy Ghost Refreshment Conference with Apostle Ryan
and Rev Jac, taking place next weekend. They and the AHKC Gisborne disciples are travelling up for the week and everyone here is anticipating a great move of the Holy Ghost in our Auckland churches and in New Zealand. In addition to having three full days to sit under their teaching, we also have their company for New Years Eve, which we will celebrate as a ministry. The Auckland guys are looking
forward to rubbing shoulders with other on-fire disciples from Gis, and everyone getting strong for Jesus and His work in 2013.
Overall the year has been an amazing one, full of stretching and Kingdom victories. Two churches have been planted in Otara and Gisborne, an AHKM Biblical Foundations Group started in Levin, Ministers & disciples have been sent out, our Oversight Rev Ryan was ordained in the ministry of Apostle, Apostle Dorian visited from Australia and conducted an ‘End Times’ Seminar, our Ministry Oversights relocated to Gisborne, new converts have committed to discipleship, others whose hearts were not in it have left, the Gospel has faithfully gone out, and the Bible has been faithfully taught in Manurewa.
Praise God for His grace. As the Ministers at Manurewa our prayer is that we will all take up our cross and love Jesus more deeply, and ultimately play our part in Advancing His Kingdom.
May you have a blessed Christmas break as we all look forward to a fiery 2013.
