The year has started with a Holy Ghost BANG! It’s as if we have had testimonies coming out of our ears of people making decisions for Christ, fighting sin, asking for discipleship, being open to the Gospel on the streets, experiencing the supernatural and generally being interested in Jesus. Two weeks ago a 16 year old guy made a decision for Jesus on the streets while speaking to a Gospel Force soldier. He has come to church for 2 weeks since that decision and is keen to get as much of the Word as he can into him. He had been doing nothing since he had problems at school and dropped out, which caused stress within his family. It was prophesied during the Sunday PM service that God was going to move in his family situation and the following week he was given full-time, well paid work through his father which he is very excited about. He didn’t even have to ask God, it came straight to him as soon as he decided to follow Jesus.
A man based on the North Shore Army base also made a decision for Christ on the streets in Manurewa. He was visiting for the weekend but has been eager to receive phone call follow-up from his decision, and has requested a New-Christian Bible Study be sent to him so he can pursue his relationship with God. Another young guy visited church after meeting GF soldiers on the street a few times. He has been a Christian for a while but said every time he spoke with the soldiers he felt FIRE, and also saw another man have his leg healed when a GF soldier prayed for him. He was so touched hearing them pray in tongues and prophecy on the streets that it drove him to visit AHKC, and during the church service he testified he too was set ablaze for Jesus. God spoke a great prophetic word about His evangelistic plans for this young man, and the following Saturday he came out on the streets witnessing for the first time and LOVED IT!
We meet so many dormant potential 5 fold ministers sitting out there in churches doing nothing – we often have Christians comment that they love what Gospel Force is doing and would love to witness too. One Christian lady was watching us open-air preach and admitted she was envious. Another young lady came up and swapped numbers with us as she is interested in witnessing in Manurewa but doesn’t know where to begin. We are praying that God will raise up many evangelists in NZ to rally Gods army to love the lost and preach the Gospel! Actually, we are praying for God to raise up all sorts of ministers and ministries in our city – AUCKLAND NEEDS JESUS!
Our Thursday prayer-meetings are hotting up as we intercede hard for our neighbourhood, and take hold of the call of God, bring revival and see His anointing heal all those oppressed by the devil, Acts 10.38. Last week another young Christian was powerfully baptised in the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues for the first time at the meeting. He was so eager to receive the baptism it sounded like he exploded as the language of tongues began to flow out of his mouth :) Two weeks prior he shared that his dad was very ill with a blood disease which caused his hands and forearms to swell and crack open, so we prayed for healing. This past week his dad reported that to his absolute surprise all swelling and cracking have completely gone and his arms are normal again! Another young disciple turned down a lucrative job offer to move away from Auckland in order to continue his discipleship and within 2 weeks God provided him with another great job in Auckland.
Two young disciples that left their relationship with God for sin last year have both decided to come back at the beginning of this year. One guy testified on Sunday night at church that after leaving Jesus he plunged back into a life of drugs and love of money but was unable to enjoy it, always knowing Jesus was calling him to come back. He said he tried to escape by going down to Christchurch and running far from God but he was constantly aware of the emptiness of sin, so eventually he came back to church ready to start again with Jesus.
The other guy has been battling with marijuana addiction but his faith-filled wife has not stopped praying for him and believing he would come back to Jesus. After deciding to come back to Jesus and keeping off drugs for a week in an attempt to get clean, he again had a small amount of marijuana and alcohol (compared to his usual consumption) but this time he completely lost control to a demonic manifestation. His wife testifies that his body began contorting and he went on to have a psychotic episode because of the drugs. His mum and sister also witnessed it and did not know what to do, but his wife called the Ministers who were able to take authority over the devil and counsel the couple on what to do. The young man has been so seriously moved by the event and is so convinced of the reality of the spirit realm, he has come back to Jesus with more resolve than ever to stand against sin. He testified last Sunday night that after returning to a life of sin last year he lost so much, and was sad as he watched his wife and daughter go on for Jesus while he smoked drugs every day at a friend’s house.
In fulfilment of a prophecy God gave this young man last year, his sister and mum both made a decision to follow Christ at church last week. Previously both had been closed to the Gospel but God moved in their hearts and they agreed to attend church while visiting a AHKC Manurewa service. Both of them received accurate prophetic words which astounded them, and the young lady requested to be water baptised before returning home to Gisbourne. A few of the ministers and disciples met with her at the Totara Pool in Randwick Park, and she also brought a group of unsaved family and friends. Rev Jac preached the Gospel to the crowd before she was baptised and God touched hearts of the hearers. One friend in particular said she has been hungry for Jesus and is ready to visit church. The young convert was baptised in water and also spoke fluently in tongues (watch the baptism in the VIDEOS tab). She has now returned home and has testified that instead of smoking marijuana before bed she reads her Bible for more than an hour! She is hungry to pursue her long-distance discipleship and leave a life of sin.
Another man and his kids have been attending church weekly since meeting a GF soldier and last week he made a decision to follow Jesus. His 8 year old daughter has been loving church and asked her dad why she hasn’t been able to learn about Jesus all her life :) On Monday night his partner also read the Bible with him and agreed to come to church. He enjoyed coming to the Bible Study last night where we started studying the book of Colossians.
During this past week Sunday AHKC Manurewa service, we were informed that there were 40 PD workers (men sentenced to community work) were gardening and labouring (with machetes!!!) in the school grounds where we hold our church services church. Of course we knew this was not a coincidence but a Holy Ghost set up - to let these guys heat the Good News of Jesus Christ. One of the AHKM disciples knew the PD wardens from his own pre-Jesus time spent doing PD, and was given permission to share his testimony during their lunch break. He preached the Gospel for at least 20 mins to all the workers and wardens, and other disciples handed out Gospel tracts and prayed for the guys. Some responded that they were interested in Jesus and would like to visit church, and we are praying that in God’s time we will be granted open doors to continue ministering in PD situations like these as well as jails and rehabilitation centres. As the disciples left the workers, the warden shouted there would be 40 new workers to preach to at the school grounds next week! Holy Ghost!
Finally AHKM’s second church plant in Otara officially started last weekend! They boldly hit the streets on Saturday morning and faced a the hard-faced spirit religion - which was exciting: the devil is scared of Word Preaching, Holy Ghost loving - Church plants! Missionaries Tom and Barb testified how exciting it is to be ministering in their first church at 60 years of age and reminded all us disciples to be faithful in discipleship and be ready to be used of God no matter what our age or background.
Praise God – I know this has been long and yet there is more we could say, but please remember us in prayers as we continue serving Jesus in Auckland. Only His Powerful Word and Holy Spirit can forever change this place, and we have faith for a great harvest of souls saved from Hell. If not us then who, and if not now, then when?
God bless, Ps Lin
