‘On Monday night we hit the streets and got three instant healings! First we laid hands on a lady and commanded the stomach pain to go and it instantly fled in Jesus Name. Second we laid hands on a lady’s ankles which were fractured from an old injury and constantly painful. We commanded pain to go and the lady testified all pain completely left. Her facial expression was amazed! Lastly we met a lady with a fractured lower rib from playing netball. This time we just spoke to the injury without laying on hands and the lady claimed she was healed. KING JESUS!’
‘Last week while at mums, suddenly Nan started to have sinus symptoms (runny nose, watery eyes & cough). She recognised it was the devil and came and asked for prayer. I jumped up eager to lay hands on her and prayed ‘In the Name of Jesus runny nose GO, be healed!’ I left it at that. Ten minutes later Nan came back and everything had completely gone! She was amazed!’
‘When the Long Distance Disciples were with us Tahlia and I hit Southmall to witness. We met one young girl who was a Christian but was young in the faith, and she told us she had lower back pain. We both laid hands on her and commanded all pain to go, and she said straight after that all pain was gone. She ended up coming to church that Sunday.’
‘In Manurewa we met a guy with migranes. He had just come from the doctor who said he was suffering from tension and stress. We prayed on the spot for his headache to go and for him to be set free. He said immediately the headache was gone. He was buzzing out!’
‘Last week we saw four healings on the streets. The first was awesome! It was a middle aged man who got really angry when we offered him a tract about Jesus. He went on to say Jesus was a load of white-man rubbish and his maori gods were all he needed. We then asked him if he had any pains or sicknesses and Jesus would prove to him He is the only Living God by healing him. He was intrigued and took off his hat to reveal a head injury from the night before and said he had bad pain in his head. We laid hands on him and as soon as we prayed he said ‘What did you guys do to me?’ He was shocked as he said he felt the pain leave his body! The next morning some other disciples saw the man again at Southmall and he showed them the injury on his head had disappeared and said he still felt well. After that we saw a lady healed from asthma pains in her chest, and old man healed from painful knees (he started dancing when Jesus set him free!) and a man healed from a hand injury. Come on!’
There have been heaps more reported healings and miracles and you can watch some of them recorded live here and under the VIDEOS tab. Miracles have not been confined to the streets either, on Sunday a lady and her two grandchildren visited our church service and made a decision for Christ. The woman had been mauled by a dog in November 2011 and had severe injuries to her right leg and arm and was limping and in constant pain. During the service a minister prayed for her injuries and she was shocked as all the pain left. She was amazed and was dancing in joy! She talked about her gratitude to God all the way home and requested a lift to the following Church services. JESUS IS KING!
The following day another minister prayed in the mall for a man with a grade 2 calf tear. The man had not been placing any weight on his calf as the pain was unbearable, it was hurting so much he wasn’t even able to make the distance to the coffee shop he and his wife normally visit. The minister prayed for his calf and leg, took the crutches from him and asked him to try walking on it.
The man gingerly put some weight on the leg and then began to slowly walk on it, saying “that feels pretty good”. When asked if there was any more pain, he replied “yeah there’s still a little niggle”. After another prayer the minister asked him to really put his calf to the test by standing up on his toes, after tentatively doing so, the man then repeated the action several times reporting with smiles both to his wife and to the minister that “it feels really good”.
Turns out this man is Auckland Blues Prop Charlie Faumuina who became a Christian last year (see slideshow at beginning of blog to see photo taken by photographer at time of Charlie's injury). Join with us in praying for Charlie and his wife Rachelle as they pursue Jesus together, and for Charlie specifically as he continues to exalt Christ in his sport career.
We had a great week in April hosting our current Long Distance Disciples from around the nation. Two disciples from Gisborne, one from Te Puke, one from Hamilton and a new convert from Levin came to Auckland for a fiery Holy Ghost weekend! Two of them and one new convert from the Manurewa church were water baptised on the Saturday, and we had a great time hitting the streets, fellowshipping and hosting them at our services. (You can watch the baptisms and prophecies under the VIDEOS tab). These guys returned home full of faith and zeal and have continued their discipleship with AHKM via phone and internet. They have been actively evangelising their own areas for Jesus and have their own weekly bible studies. One young guy took his whole family out witnessing for the first time in their home town and is determined to make the move to Auckland for his discipleship.
Another long distance disciple’s neighbour made a decision for Christ at a nearby church after witnessing the radical effect of biblical discipleship in her friend’s life. She instantly quit her alcohol and came hungry to know more about the Bible, be water baptised and filled with the Holy Ghost. Sadly the church she visited told her that baptism in the Holy Ghost is not necessary for her at this stage. Again we are faced with the need for true shepherds all over this country. There are existing churches in these areas in NZ but many are dripping with compromise and not offering biblical discipleship to these little ones. As a result many backslide and become attackers of Christ. Please keep our distance disciples in your prayers, in the natural they are out there on their own but in the spirit there is no distance between us. Right now they are continuing to grow and shine for Jesus. We pray they all continue in discipleship and fulfil the call of God on their life.
(If you are interested in biblical discipleship and can’t find a church that offers it near you, see our DISCIPLESHIP tab and contact us for more information).
Lastly to encourage you all in prayer for the lost: the new convert in the Manurewa church who was recently water baptised first received a tract from two disciples in 2011. At that time she knew she wanted Jesus but was busy with the cares of this life and the love of this world. One of the disciples put her name in the prayer-book and the church has lifted her up in faith every week since then. In March her circumstances came tumbling down, and she found the tract and visited church. She was soon born again, filled with the Holy Ghost, water baptised and is now starting the Foundations Course. Prayer works, don’t give up!
God bless you all in Jesus Name.
